WHAT IT IS
Real boxing. Not cardio boxing.
Boxing is the cleanest stand-up foundation you can build. Two hands, two feet, the ability to slip a punch and answer with one of your own. Every combination in any combat sport runs on the same fundamentals. Balance, distance, the quiet discipline of throwing less and meaning more.
At Kaizen you'll learn the four punches first. Jab, cross, hook, uppercut, then how to chain them into combinations that hold up under pressure. After that come slips, rolls, angles, and the ring craft most "boxing" classes never teach.
For the full breakdown of the boxing program (phase by phase, what each week covers, who teaches it), read about the boxing program at Kaizen.
A CLASS · STEP BY STEP
What a boxing class looks like.
Dynamic warm-up. Jump rope, shadow boxing, footwork drills.
Technique instruction. A coach breaks down one or two specific punches or defensive moves.
Partner pad work. You and a partner trade rounds on the pads at your own pace.
Bag rounds for power and conditioning.
Optional controlled sparring once you've built a foundation.
Cool-down. Stretching, core work, and time to ask questions.

No. Most members walk in having never thrown a real punch. The first weeks focus on stance, footwork, and the four basic punches. Jab, cross, hook, uppercut. Drills get scaled to your level. You'll build fitness as you go, not before you start.
We teach real boxing. Mechanics, footwork, head movement, ring craft. You're learning to actually box, not punching air to music. The workout still wrecks you in the best way, but the technique is the point. Coaches have competed and trained fighters who've competed.
Sparring is always optional and only available after you've built a solid foundation. Many members train for years without ever sparring and get the full benefit of boxing through pad work, bag rounds, and shadow boxing. It's there if you want it, never required.
Boxing is hands and footwork only. The cleanest stand-up foundation you can build. Muay Thai adds kicks, knees, and elbows. Your membership covers both, so most members try the other after a few weeks. Boxing first is a good way in if you want a single focused discipline.
Your first week is free, no card required. Membership pricing depends on the location and how often you want to train. Use the free trial form to claim a class and we'll send the current rates for the location closest to you. No commitments to start.
