Little Lions Program — Ages 4-6
Where it all begins. Fun, nurturing martial arts classes that build coordination, confidence, and focus — through play.
Little Lions is where it all begins. This program is designed specifically for young children who are still learning how their bodies work, how to listen, and how to interact with other kids. Through interactive games, structured martial arts training, and lots of positive reinforcement, your child will build coordination, confidence, and focus — all while having a blast.
Our coaches are trained to work with this age group. They know that a 5-year-old's attention span works differently than a teenager's. Classes are fast-paced, colorful, and built around movement. Your child will learn basic martial arts techniques, but more importantly, they'll learn how to follow instructions, take turns, handle frustration, and celebrate effort.
This isn't daycare with punching. It's a carefully structured program that uses martial arts as a vehicle for developing the life skills your child needs — confidence, respect, perseverance, and the ability to stand up for themselves when it matters.

What Parents Are Saying
Hear from families in the Little Lions program.
“My daughter was painfully shy — wouldn't make eye contact with other kids. After three months at Kaizen, she walked into school and introduced herself to a new student. I cried in the car. The coaches here don't just teach martial arts, they build humans.”

“We were nervous about putting our 4-year-old in martial arts. Coach made us feel so welcome on the first day. Now our son counts down the days to his next class. He's learning patience, respect, and how to listen — things we struggle to teach at home.”

How Progress Works
Visible milestones that keep your child motivated.
Your child earns stripes and belts as they master new skills — tangible markers of growth they can see and celebrate.
Testing happens every 8-12 weeks, giving your child a clear goal to work toward in every class.
You'll see measurable progress in confidence, focus, and coordination within the first month.
We communicate regularly with parents about your child's development — you'll never be in the dark about how they're doing.
Little Lions FAQs
If your child can follow basic instructions and separate from you for class, they're ready. Our Little Lions program is designed for this exact age — we meet kids where they are developmentally. Many parents are surprised how quickly their child adapts.
The opposite. Martial arts teaches self-control, respect, and when NOT to use physical skills. Kids in our program consistently become calmer and more disciplined, not more aggressive. We emphasize that martial arts is about protecting yourself and others.
Totally normal and expected. Our coaches have seen it all and handle it with patience and warmth. Some kids take a few classes to warm up, and that's completely fine. We never force participation — we make it fun enough that they want to join in.
Classes are 30-45 minutes, which is the ideal attention span window for this age group. Short enough to keep them engaged, long enough to learn something real.
No. Little Lions focuses on technique, coordination games, and controlled drills. There is no sparring at this level. Everything is designed to be safe, fun, and confidence-building.
