ABOUT THE PROGRAM
What this actually is.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art built on the principle that technique beats size and strength. It teaches you to control, neutralize, and submit opponents on the ground using leverage, positioning, and precise mechanics — making it one of the most effective forms of self-defense for people of any size.
If you've never done anything like this before, good. BJJ is designed for exactly that situation. It rewards problem-solving and patience over raw power. Our beginners curriculum breaks everything down into manageable pieces so you're never lost on the mat.
The mental side is what keeps most people hooked. BJJ is often called human chess — every roll is a puzzle where you're reading your partner, adapting on the fly, and finding solutions in real time. That mental engagement is what makes it feel less like exercise and more like something you actually want to do.

THE ARC · YOUR FIRST QUARTER
How the progression goes.
- WK. 01–04
Falls, frames & fundamentals
Breakfalls, hip movement, basic posture and grips. You learn how to be safe on the mat before anything else — how to fall, how to stand back up, how to control your own weight. Drilling only. No live rolls yet.
- WK. 05–12
Positions & technique chains
Top and bottom positions — guard, mount, side control — and how to move between them. Wrestling shots start clicking. Drilling becomes more responsive as you read your partner's reactions in real time.
- WK. 13+
Live rolling & sparring
Live rolling and takedown sparring become available — always optional, never rushed. You'll spend many rounds getting tapped before tapping anyone, and that's the point. The puzzle is the practice.

QUESTIONS
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu FAQ.
Yes. Flexibility develops over time through training. You don't need to touch your toes on day one. The movements themselves will improve your range of motion naturally.
BJJ is one of the safest martial arts because you control the intensity. Submissions use joint locks and chokes that you tap out of before anything happens. Our coaches emphasize controlled training and proper technique to minimize risk.
We offer both gi and no-gi classes. For your first few classes, just wear a rash guard or fitted t-shirt and athletic shorts or joggers. We can help you get a gi when you're ready.
Most people feel genuinely capable within 3-6 months of consistent training. You'll learn escapes and basic control positions within your first few weeks.
