Kickboxing at Kaizen is called Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is the most technical and complete form of kickboxing — it's been the foundation of modern combat sports for a century. When you train Muay Thai at Kaizen, you're getting real kickboxing, taught by people who've trained world champions, in a way that's accessible for complete beginners.

Professional Muay Thai exchange during competition

Kickboxing, done right, is Muay Thai.

The most technical and complete form of stand-up striking in the world.

Muay Thai is the most comprehensive form of kickboxing on the planet. Known as the art of eight limbs, it uses punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and clinch work — covering far more ground than the generic kickboxing you'll find at a typical fitness studio. It has been the foundation of modern combat sports for a century.

At Kaizen, you're learning real Muay Thai from coaches who have trained athletes competing in UFC, Bellator, and ONE Championship. Every class teaches proper form, timing, and strategy alongside an intense workout. You'll develop practical striking skills while building the kind of conditioning that transforms both your body and your mindset.

This isn't punching air to music. It's real training with real partners, real technique, and real results — whether your goal is fitness, self-defense, competition, or all three.

The program itself lives on the Muay Thai program page — that's where you'll find the schedule, what to wear, and what your first class looks like.

Kickboxing for fitness

The workout that actually keeps you coming back.

Most people quit their gym routine because it's boring. Muay Thai is the opposite. Every class is different, mentally engaging, and physically demanding. You're learning something new while your body transforms — that's why members stay for years, not weeks.

Kickboxing for self-defense

Practical striking skills that work in the real world.

Muay Thai is one of the most effective self-defense systems because it teaches you to strike with power and precision using your entire body. You'll develop the ability to create distance, defend yourself from close range, and respond to threats with trained instincts rather than panic.

Combined with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling, you can build a complete self-defense skill set that covers every situation. But even on its own, Muay Thai gives you a serious advantage in any standing confrontation.

Kickboxing FAQ

Muay Thai is the most comprehensive form of kickboxing. While generic kickboxing typically uses just punches and kicks, Muay Thai adds elbows, knees, and clinch work — making it the most effective stand-up martial art in the world. When you train Muay Thai at Kaizen MMA, you're learning the real thing, not a watered-down version.

None at all. Most of our members started with zero martial arts experience. Every class has progressions for beginners — our coaches will teach you proper technique from the ground up and scale everything to your level.

Athletic clothes you can move in — shorts or joggers and a t-shirt. We train barefoot, so no shoes needed. Bring a water bottle and a towel. We have loaner gloves for your first few classes.

A typical Muay Thai class burns 500-800 calories depending on your intensity and body weight. The combination of sustained cardio, explosive striking, and full-body conditioning makes it one of the most effective workouts available — and you're learning real skills while you're at it.

Yes. Training kickboxing is very different from competing. In our classes, the focus is on technique, fitness, and skill development. Sparring is always optional and controlled. You work at your own pace and intensity.
